Long description

Services provided by Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture (UNIZAG FSB), Chair of Marine Engineering
1. Calculation of the Attained EEDI
For every ship of GT 400 and above engaged in international voyages the International Energy Efficiency (IEE) Certificate has to be issued. In order to obtain it, for every new ship the Attained Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) has to be calculated according to the prescribed procedure and not higher than the Required EEDI determined by the ship type and capacity, with the aim of improving the design energy efficiency of a ship. UNIZAG FSB can perform the Attained EEDI calculation of a ship, as well as to provide assistance in energy efficiency improvements in order to satisfy the criteria to obtain the IEE Certificate.
2. Development of SEEMP
For every ship of GT 400 and above engaged in international voyages the International Energy Efficiency (IEE) Certificate has to be issued. In order to obtain it, every ship has to have Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plan (SEEMP) on-board. The SEEMP needs to be developed according to guidelines, with the aim of improving operational efficiency of a ship. UNIZAG FSB can develop the SEEMP, as well as to provide assistance in energy efficiency improvements in order to satisfy the criteria to obtain the IEE Certificate.
3. Ship vibration analysis
Ship vibrations can have negative impact on the ship structure, but also on ship habitability (comfort level for crew and passengers). UNIZAG FSB can perform the analysis of ship vibration, determine if the vibrations are within the requirements, identify the main problems linked with the vibrations and to propose improvements in the ship structure with the aim of keeping the vibrations at a minimum level.
4. Ship noise analysis
Emission of noise from ships can have negative impact on the marine environment, as well as on ship habitability (comfort level for crew and passengers). UNIZAG FSB can perform the analysis of noise on-board ships, determine if the noise levels are within the requirements and to propose improvements in the ship structure and power system with the aim of keeping the noise at a minimum level.
